Really, where do these spammers come from? This one is so good I’d almost approve it but of course they’ll be back. So here’s the text, my head hurts now.

6 months ago I convinced a customer to replace a troublesome internet
connection with a fiber line. More expensive but we can use it to
save the cost difference and have an early payback. Great, the
provider takes care of all the idiotic convulsions that make up the
telecommunications industry here. So after about 5 different players
did their thing and thousands of our dollars later we currently have a
ripped up sidewalk, dark fiber across the building, and no service.
Apparently someone miscalculated the distance outside by 3 meters and
the whole process starts again because of permits and the
unwillingness of companies to finish what they started in a timely
manner.

The economy is shaky so you’d think that providers would pay attention
and make a customer happy. Hearing about what one company is doing to
stall another company that impacts the company we contracted that
ultimately impacts us doesn’t cut it. We pay the money to one company
and that is where the buck stops for us. I like the company we picked
and the problem isn’t their fault but if the product doesn’t deliver
and we’ve already paid money then I can only yell at that one company.
5 months into the process we’re now told that it will be another 3
months. If we’re lucky.

Meanwhile my customer has laid out thousands and is not happy that he
gets nothing but dust for the money. Me on the other hand put in lots
of time and I get zero for my effort so far and probably never will.
Cheques bouncing all over the city and a hungry belly is what I get.
And I can’t complain to anyone except into the internet void. Can you
hear me now…..

The site is back up after purposely set to dark yesterday. I needed a quiet day without any distractions or noise from the grandstands. No political jackass commentary, no tears, no memorials, and no blinky lights and fluffy nonsense from the totally distracted. Just me, myself, and I.

Darkness on 9/11

This blog will go dark on 11 September. Mostly as respect for the innocent lives lost on that day and the families that will grieve again for them.

However for the rest of you blowhards, pundits on the tv and radio, politicians of all flavours, and the sheeple that follow their manipulative words of hate and ignorance, shut the fuck up and take the day off. Perhaps show some love to your own family and forget about what you think that you hate. I don’t care about your tea parties or anything more that you have to say. Right, left, it doesn’t matter, it’s all just noise right now. I know you won’t shut up so I’m going dark for that day and will not listen to anybody. I won’t know until the 12th that one of you morons shot someone that happened to be in the wrong place or that you got your own stupid brain shot up.

I thought we got over this kind of stupidity in the 1970s. I was wrong.

Everyone knows about the volcanoes making waves around the planet and reminding us that nature will always hold the balance of power. I have a short list of links that I’m liking best today.

First up is an artsy look at the ash fall effects. Don’t worry about the Icelandic language, the pictures speak for themselves. This is Iceland’s oldest current public pool. Built by a youth group back in the ’20s on top of an older pool. Check out these beautiful shots .
