I wasn’t surprised that I’d have jet lag upon arriving in Iceland. After all it was suddenly 5 hours later plus the 5+ hours of the flight and the shorter daylight length from being much further north made the first day rather surreal. But no worries, I caught up with the new rhythm quickly. It was the trip back that has me all messed up. I keep waking up before 4am and feeling sluggish by nightfall. I tried going to bed late and going to bed early, same result. I just can’t get back to normal.
Perhaps my DNA prefers the GMT timezone and 65 degrees latitude. I don’t suffer from S.A.D. so this one came as a surprise.
May be going to bed and rising at local time will help. But being back from a place where you’ve been, it sure would take time.I am sure your trip was event packed, you are bound to take time to settle time.
I’m sure the only cure for this is to go straight back to Iceland. good luck
I think you’re right. The prescription is another trip but this time for longer. Biggest regret is not being there for much longer. I love that place in so many ways. If the kreppa inflation is kept under control I might go sooner rather than later.
