I awoke to a still dark Reykjavik.  I thought oh please don’t be 4am since I only had an hour’s sleep.  It was 9am so I jumped out of bed with a body that thought it was 4.  And back home it was 4am so the 9am darkness looks right.  The hotel breakfast was very nice.  Good coffee, rye bread, cold fish slices, granola with yogurt.

The wind is blowing with a ferocity that I have only read about.  With the daylight finally increasing I saw what was invisible yesterday, the beloved Esja mountain.  Just stunning and I can see why the locals love this mountain across the water.  I can see the little island that holds the John Lennon tower of peace light.  But the wind, oh my.  Eventually it bites, so quickly I am back to make a quick post before heading out again.

Goooood morning Iceland!

You have taken some great pictures. Last time we stayed at the very furthest hotel called the “Cabin” toward Videy Island where we had a splendid view of Esja from our room. Don’t you just love the comforters and snuggly beds? Oh we shall be dreaming as we live the adventure with you via your pictures and narrative… *sigh* wish we were there.

Hello again! You know I almost walked all the way over to the “Cabin” as that spit of land looked like a great spot from where I was. It seemed that Esja would tower over you. The wind however made it a tough hike for these old bones. It was like walking against a hurricane.

The comforters are indeed snuggly. The radiator makes for very comfy heat too. But I kept it on the cool side so I could keep the comforter on me.

But the night life…. I hadn’t planned on doing that but it just sorta happened. oh my oh my. I love these people.
