Pönnukökkupanna Framleidd síðan 1943Nice to see some sensible free trade happening between Canada and Iceland. Maybe we’ll see more variety of products between the countries and finally have some choices besides the same old crap from China. Who knows, I might become more of a consumer. I want a Pönnukökkupanna Framleidd síðan 1943…

  1. nanner nanner nanner - I have one! I’ve used it to make Pönnukökkur many times, and they are splendid :) Hope you get one too! :)

  2. You’re such a tease Terry! I will get one if it is the only thing I bring back. I can actually make a decent pancake and could learn to make the thin Icelandic style no problem. We call them Crêpes.

So when I’m feeling my Nordic blood start to boil but can’t go to Iceland I visit Ikea early in the morning, pick up a bottle of Icelandic Glacial, and stop by the Dutch Bakery for some dark breads. :)

  3. When I go to Ikea I buy the gravlax - or cured salmon. It is divine.

You know, when you finally do make it to Iceland, you will never leave I just know it. You are so in tune with its beauty just from photos, that when you see the real thing, feel the wind, smell the sea and gaze at the black lava cliffs you will never be persuaded to go back home. I’ve been there 3 times - and I long to go back.
