Torontonians got their first big snow storm last night so of course panic and mayhem was the order of the day. Perhaps if the media didn’t treat people as babies they might not act like babies. I love the white stuff no matter how much comes down. But like most folks I don’t enjoy the shoveling. I do however have a minimalist shoveling philosophy. I cut a path from the door to the street so we can walk and the mailman will deliver and if I’m lucky I’ll get my mail instead of the neighbour’s. The car however must fend for itself. If the car can’t get out of the driveway then I don’t need to drive. I just can’t and won’t be a slave to the car. I also don’t see the point in making every square centimeter of pavement clear of every snowflake.
But I now have a dilemma, I just moved to a house next door to my work (yeah for no driving on a daily basis). Part of my duties and to keep the rent very low considering how nice the area is I have to take care of both houses which includes the snow shoveling. If there weren’t other people working here every day I’d keep to my simple shoveling technique. But I must actually clear the driveway. So I broke my long held tradition and moved several tons of the white stuff. But not before taking a drive into the country just to enjoy the slippery stuff in its natural state.

Urgh. We have to shovel too, because we have a tenant and we share a driveway with the neighbours. It was not fun today. So heavy!
And holy moly, kiddo got tall!
