Real life can be much different than what you get in the movies and the ironically named ‘reality’ shows. But in Iceland almost everything is different than elsewhere (wish I was there). With barely 100 prisoners in the whole country there isn’t exactly a huge crime problem even for a country with a small population. But bad boys and girls do occasionally find their way into the system. And when you live on an island and one with a small population and few areas that are habitable it isn’t wise to escape. Where will you hide? In the old days there were infamous bad guys that hid in the outback and some were banished to far away places and named those places with the same flair that gave Iceland its name, Greenland, Vinland, and other places. The Nordic people have a sense of humour and gentle justice.
The big crime story concerned two knuckleheads that decided to escape from prison only to be captured the next day prompting an interesting commentary on IcelandReview. Perhaps this doesn’t make for popular crime of the century stories on A&E but I would love to be where this is the big story in real life.
Or perhaps political drama is more to your liking, then you are likely waiting for the book to be written regarding the big Sri Lanka scandal.

Ha ha - when I read about this in the IR, I wondered that very same thing - where would they escape to! LOL, not a smart idea. Funny post.

I love these stories that over here in the big N.A. wouldn’t get any notice unless there was extreme violence or sex involved. I could feel pretty safe in a place like that.
Thanks for stopping by!
