I can relate to this Iceland Review article about celebrating holidays in a place that is not your birth nation. The sometimes comical antics and compromises one experiences to make one day special when it is just another normal day around you. I can also relate to the feeling that folks back home consider your new choice of home an abandonment of the father land. But like the author I too can see with clarity the things that make the old country special. But I remain as this is now my home. So I could do it all again in the land of ice and elves.
