I hate statistics. Not all stats, reports, studies, and other redundant and pointless numbers that try to explain who we are. However the useful numbers are diluted by the endless barrage of questionable data. Who pays for this and why?

Anecdotal is good enough for me, if the anecdotes are mine.

These are the trends I’ve noticed here in Toronto. What is happening on your turf?

  • More erratic and extreme weather. Short periods of normal variance with extreme conditions the next.
  • Wind. Much more wind. Icelanders understand wind but this much wind is unusual here.
  • Thunder. A lot more thunderstorms, sometimes very violent. More frequent thunder during snow storms.
  • Hot. Every summer we’re breaking last year’s heat.
  • Cold. When it gets cold it really chills down. Not too often but you take notice when the temp drops by extreme amounts in short order.
  • Ignorance. People have no sense of their environment or how to deal with it. They must be told what is happening and even how they feel. And they still panic and complain.

One Response to “Is your weather changing”

  1. But don’t panic folks. Weather happens, and we can’t do anything about it except adjust ourselves to it.

I’m only concerned about how much of this crazy weather is our fault.
