Here comes the big dump. A very large storm is heading our way from the west. We’re still a few hours away from being hit but the lake effect snow has already started. The -17C/+1F temp this morning is being sucked into the low pressure storm causing the lake effect snow we’re now getting. Watching the snow come down in a horizontal easterly fashion is very interesting. It is piling up quickly with drifts much higher than actual accumulation. The winds are starting to slow down which hopefully means that the storm is almost here. The type of snow will change and who knows what will happen.
Of course this can’t compare to the 200+cms that hit upstate New York last week. But with millions of non driving bozos out there trying to cope, it will get interesting. I will be sticking to the tiny back country roads for sure. I love this stuff.

Out in the west here we have 40+cms and counting. It is still coming down and if I’m lucky we’ll have 60cms. Lovely…
