inukshuk It feels like IcelandI’ve been comparing weather in Iceland and Toronto and these past few weeks they have been very close in temperature. Hovering around the freezing point. Yesterday it poured rain and had it been just 2 degrees colder we would have had a lot of snow.

Well the temp dropped late in the day, the wind picked up, and I was hoping for a good blast of proper winter. Crap, as usual when the weather changes it really changes. As it got colder the rain slowed down and the wind picked up. After just a taste of icy wonder the sky cleared and it was simply cold and windy.

This morning I woke to find a thin layer of lake effect snow. Too little to count as snow and besides, lake effect snow is localized and might dump a meter over here and nothing two blocks away.

But Iceland it feels like.. Biggest difference right now between here and there is the amount of sunlight. We have more daylight in December than Iceland does. I suppose it would take some time to get comfortable with sunrise at lunchtime and sunset by the time you finish your coffee…
